4th Annual EGGZIBIT Children's Temporary Art Exhibit
EGGZIBIT '10, our fourth year for this children's, temporary public art exhibition, featured the artistic talent of Ms. Mingus' Peculiar Elementary fourth graders, the Dusty Trails 4-H, a few different Girl Scout troops and scattered young and young at heart from the community. Ms. Mingus' classes created their eggs based on the Ukrainian Easter egg called Pysanky. The kids worked in artist pairs to create the eggs.
We moved the exhibit to be out a little later this year to try to lessen the impact of the weather on the art works. As usual, kids, hand in hand with their parents, walked around Downtown to point out their eggs and the eggs of their friends. Many took the opportunity to capture some one of a kind photos and we noticed a sharp upswing in smiles.
